The Instructors
To be the best, you must learn from the best. That’s why every junior golf camp instructor has been trained and tested in all aspects of the game by the PGA of America. Our promise – is to support, encourage, and respect each and every one of our campers and authentically inspire them to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course.
Jonathan Knowles, PGA
Director of Instruction
Jonathan’s passion for teaching began while working alongside world-class instructor Hank Haney, where he trained as a golf instructor for seven years and developed a foundation rooted in elite-level instruction. During that time, he gained extensive experience through a nationally recognized, full-week junior summer camp program that provided instruction to nearly 1,500 junior golfers ages 5–17 each summer.
A PGA of America Class A Member since 2010 and American Development Model (ADM) Certified, Jonathan is also a former coach within the German National Team system. Throughout his career, he has coached numerous junior golfers who have advanced to compete at Top-10 ranked colleges across NCAA Division I, II, and III programs.
His coaching philosophy centers on age- and stage-appropriate development, ensuring each player builds skills progressively while developing confidence, athleticism, and a lifelong love for the game.
Jonathan’s mission is simple: develop athletes for life — an investment that benefits both the individual player and the future of the game.

Nate Lunsford, Assistant Golf Professional
Nate Lunsford has been playing golf for over 10 years, developing a deep passion for the game that continues to grow each season. What began as a personal pursuit quickly became a lifelong commitment to improvement, competition, and the traditions that make golf such a unique sport. Inspired by the positive impact golf had on his own development, Nate chose to work with junior golfers to help them experience those same benefits.
He believes golf teaches discipline, patience, integrity, and confidence — qualities that shape not only strong players, but strong individuals. His coaching philosophy focuses on building fundamentals while creating an environment where juniors feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to improve.
One of Nate’s favorite aspects of coaching is watching young players grow in confidence. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, achieving a personal best, or simply discovering a love for the game, he finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of that journey. His personal best round of 64 reflects both his dedication to the craft and his commitment to continuous improvement.
Outside of coaching, Nate enjoys exploring fine dining restaurants, playing unique and architecturally interesting golf courses while traveling, and following sports. He appreciates experiences that bring together competition, atmosphere, and excellence — values he also brings into his instruction.
At summer camp, Nate hopes every junior leaves with more than just improved swing mechanics. His goal is for each player to build confidence, form new friendships, and develop a deeper love for the game — lessons that extend far beyond the golf course.

Isaiah Rubio, Shop Assistant
Isaiah Rubio, Summer Camp Instructor
Isaiah Rubio brings over a decade of playing experience and a deep passion for mentoring young athletes to the Coyote Ridge Golf Club Summer Camp program. He began playing golf in early high school and quickly discovered that the game offered more than competition — it became a powerful tool for character development, discipline, and personal growth.
Isaiah is inspired by helping junior golfers develop both their skills and their confidence. His favorite part of coaching is watching players experience the breakthrough moments when their hard work begins to pay off — when swings improve, scores drop, and, most importantly, belief in themselves grows. He understands that golf is as much about mindset and resilience as it is about mechanics.
A memorable highlight of Isaiah’s golf journey was making a hole-in-one on Hole #3 at Coyote Ridge — a moment of pure excitement and accomplishment that reflects his connection to the club and the game.
Beyond the course, Isaiah enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures, gaining new perspectives that enrich both his life and his coaching approach. (And of course, playing incredible golf courses around the world is a bonus!)
Isaiah’s goal for every junior golfer at camp is simple yet powerful: to leave with greater confidence, strong sportsmanship, a genuine love for the game, and the belief that they can achieve their goals — both on and off the course.
